I was looking for an original butt plate but couldn't find any that were in good shape or that were not really expensive. This is not an original (and not advertised as one), it is steel and an accurate copy of the original. Excellent quality, I would buy again. Note, there is no flap up plate (full auto); but it lets you access the gear kit stored in the stock. If your stock has a cutout for the flip plate hinge. This plate won't cover that up.
