I bought these grips with the understanding that they were factory blems and had to look hard to find the flaw. It was a small spot in the varnish that amounted to nothing much and could be sanded off if need be. They look fine on my Model 10.

Functional. Shape is right, wood is blah. Look like old Altamonts S&W used to cheap out by putting on factory guns before they even gave up the pretense and shifted to Hogue rubber grips.

These are Greater than I expected, reading through the reviews seemed to be 50-50 with the biggest complaint being fitment. I received mine within a week of ordering and put them on immediately, Fit was 100% on the money, no gaps, no uneven edges. These went on a S&W 586-1 - L Frame, I have a Model 10 K frame I was thinking of buying an identical set for, But I kind of like the Factory skinny grips that came with it, So I'm still kicking around that idea.

On the up side this revolver grip fit my S&W model 686 well, it was smoothly finished and nicely checkered. On the down side it is not an exact reproduction of the original walnut grip, It is slightly smaller and is stained a very light blonde color that I have never seen on an original. I cannot identify the wood but it does not appear to be walnut like the original. I am disappointed, but will keep it, strip the existing finish, try to stain it darker, and will put it on an every day shooter. I would not buy another of these and would recommend that anyone in need of a replacement grip seek out a used original.
