Quite honestly I purchased THIS unit for the remote. I already own the same one as well as a lower model from the same product line -- so obviously I really like this product line. In this case I managed to acquire a fully functioning 'spare' receiver w/ remote for the same cost as a replacement remote. Great score in my opinion! About the unit itself, though, it has a tremendous number of options that the average homeowner will never use such as extreme control of individual levels for all 8 million (exaggeration) of its programmable sound field choices. Do not expect flip through the manual easily. With a plethora of options always comes incredibly detailed, and sometime confusing, instructions. But, if you take the time to plow through the many pages of detailed how-to-do-it language, your ears will thank you for doing so. This line of amplifier products puts out a nice, clean sound for the price range. Won't rival your high end stuff, no, but ask yourself this question: Can YOU really tell the difference in YOUR room, house or apartment?Read full review

Wow! Over 20% of electronics fail, but this certainly has not. Even being a used product, the power and presitge of such a product exist. Great sound can be blasted from this HTR, and simply have no complaints.
