Eotech has been long known for their superb optics, and the 552 is no exception. The Night Vision capabilities are an added plus. This sight will give you an "absolute" co-witness with its height about the rail, where as the quick detach models are "lower 1/3rd" co-witness. Paired with an Eotech magnifier, and you've got yourself one of the best setups out there! If you're looking for a quality optic that won't let you down, and has been battle tested, look no further!

Absolutely the best !
The EOTech 552 is what I had on my issued rifle and in retirement I just wanted what I was accustomed to. This newer model is so much better for ease of instal and battery replacement. It uses AA batteries and not those short camera like ones that are way too expensive and die quickly. The change in battery type is a huge upgrade.

This is by far the best Holographic Weapon Sight (HWS) I have ever owned. It has been field tested by our military and has a zero tolerance to failure. Using a pair of standard size AA, it is slightly longer than the other models such as the 555 (which uses the popular CR123). I have placed over 500 9mm rounds and 300 40SW rounds with the 552 sight and it is dead on. If you are serious about your gear then this is the best HWS you can buy for the price. Standardized by the DEA, ATF, and FBI SWAT, the Model 552 is by far the most popular HWS model. This NV compatible, AA battery model is the sight of choice by military units like Stryker Brigade, 10th Mountain, and 3rd Infantry. It is battle proven to withstand the abuse that any harsh environment, high powered weapon platform, or military mission can dish out. This is an excellent short range oriented sight but also works well at longer distances. I chose EOTech over a standard red dot due to the need for reading glasses for close up vision. With EOTech you don't need to line up with (focus on) the front iron sight, it allows you to look/focus fully down range with both eyes open.

Great sight, and two eye shooting.
Have not used the Night vision feature so far, but I already have a 512, and that is what made me buy the new 5552. I am extremely impressed with the site, and the rapid target acquisition that this site allows, with true two eye shooting.
