Keep in mind, the depth of this case is listed as being only 4 inches, and it is a bit shallow to comfortably fit most regular sized classical guitars. My classical guitar is about 4 1/4” at the thickest part of the body (plus approx 1/2” for the bridge/saddle) and it requires so much force to close the lid that I was afraid the guitar would be harmed. However, my steel string folk guitar that is 4” thick does fit perfectly so I will be using this case for that instead. Other than the depth issue, the latches kept jamming when trying to close the lid due to the guide tongues being out of alignment, but bending them slightly outward (see photo) fixed the problem. Also, the flip lever on the locking latch had too much lateral play and somehow it caused the latch to get stuck in the closed position as though it were locked. I have fixed the gap by pinching the bracket together w/ pliers (see photo) and that seems to have fixed the problem. Overall, at $79 this is a good value for a sturdy case. Musician’s Friend shipped this very quickly.Read full review

Ad said it fit a 4/4 Full Size classical guitar, It is too shallow for the body. I am keeping it for home storage, leaving the lid shut, but not LATCHED, as the lid latches TOO TIGHT.

I love this case asthtically but can't figure out why they only made it 4" deep. Most guitars are not going to fit. My 1964 Swedish Goya G-10 just barely fits. I worry that the lid is too tight on the bridge, but it closes. There appears that the lining gives a bit. Perhaps it has foam rubber under the red lining. The case is gorgeous and is a great value for the price. I would rate it 5 stars if this case was 1/2" deeper. I probably would not buy another unless they fix this dilemma. Happy playing.

I've been playing guitar for nearly sixty years and have gone through many different instruments, including cases. Usually my guitars have all come with pretty good cases. Considering the price, this is a great case. On the plus side, it (1) fit my classical perfectly. (2) The lining was plush. (3) The appearance looks like a much more expensive case. So, what's wrong? Only two things, and both minor, especially considering the price, as I already said. The latches don't always work right. One in particular gets out of alignment, and I have to mess with it to latch the case. The other imperfection is that there appear to be several small air bubbles in the tweed/cloth covering. If it weren't for those two things, you would think that this was a much more expensive case. The upshot of it is this: if the need arose, I would definitely buy another. Nor would I hesitate to recommend it a friend, but would also explain what I consider the negatives to be.Read full review

the classical guitar tweed case is a nice one, but one that is really too snug. by that i mean that if your nylon string guitar is even a tiny bit bigger than standard, it simply will not fit. in fact my classical electro-acoustic guitar will not fit because of the electronics not fitting in. the case is well made, material seems durable and on the positive side, you don't want your classical guitar "swimming" inside its case....
