I went from a GTX 970 to this 1070 in the same machine - i7 5820, 128GB Ram. There is a reduction in power use; both while in mild use as well as heavy use where you are pegging the GPU (rendering). While I don't have test numbers, I can "feel" and see an increase in performance. The fan system works well, quiet, temps stay low. I don't game much, but use this in a 3D workstation for modeling and other engineering and design task for devices and accessories in the vapor market - Absolute-Wood, we're online (shameless plug). It handles large models (1500+ parts) better than the 970 did. Now I can make larger or more complex models. I mainly use Autodesk Inventor and DraftSight (acad clone) as well as PhotoShop and it works well, no obvious glitches. Well developed software from Asus, as well.Read full review

Amazing value for price. It averages on ebay about 2/3 price of GTX 1080. And it can run most modern games at high or max settings at 2k resolution.

My son needed it to play rust. His GTX 970 just wasn't cutting it. Now he plays the game at 60-80FPS.
