The plates were packed expertly and arrived in one piece. All the plates were new but one plate had a nick on its edge. I bought these plates because I needed to have spares for my set, so I did not notify the seller of the nick on the one plate. Felt it was too much of a deal. If I were buying these plates if I didn't have others I would have been very disappointed. That is why I gave a rating of 4 for item description.
