EA GAMES' vaunted Need for Speed series, which first hit the gas in 1995 on the 3DO platform, continues with the multi-platform release of Need for Speed: Underground. As the title suggests, players are embroiled in the shadowy world of illicit street racing. Players will enlist in various underground events held on city streets at dusk. While battling rivals in drag races or more conventional pursuits, players can earn cash used to purchase an assortment of vehicle modifications. Over 20 licensed cars are available to tweak and customize from such manufacturers as Mitsubishi, Toyota, and Suburu, among others. Developed by the same team responsible for 2002's Hot Pursuit 2, the game also features official parts from Bilstein, Audiobahn, Dazz Motorsport, and other providers.

    Game is like new

    I was expecting some light scratches since the game was being sold as used. To my surprise there is not a single scratch on the disk. It looks like a brand new game disk. I haven't played this game since I was 10 or 11, so I'm very excited to play it!

    Not a very good game WARNING to purchasers!!!

    Need for speed underground is a good racing game overall but should not be purchased if your used to Need for Speed underground 2, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, or Need for Speed: Carbon because of the game play. It has nice cars and car customizations, but it still is missing free roam and the game is very hard and not user friendly. The graphics need a lot of work, but the music play list is very good with artists like Blindside, Crystal Method, Rancid, Overseer, and Rob Zombie!!! But for an average selling price of $5 on Ebay it is nothing to complain about, just don’t waste your money and buy a new one. Overall the Graphics get a 3 out of 5, sound a 2 out of 5, music selection gets a 5 out of 5!!! Overall I give Need for Speed: Underground a 3 out of 5. Be sure to view my other video ...

    Great racing game for the GameCube

    great play control that really changes as you upgrade your car. Most of the tracks are all city driving at night, but I guess that's the whole theme of the game. Storyline keeps it somewhat interesting outside the actual races. Drag racing gets quite involved with having to shift, use nitrous, and avoid oncomming and cross traffic. Good game.

    Still fun after more than a decade

    Game is pretty nice. Gameplay is compelling and graphics are very good for 2003.

    great game not as adcanced as the more previous games

    it is still challenging and exciting it has more variety in music but even as a gamer the scenery is very hard to follow the graphics are not as good as the later versions the customizing is not as advanced as some of the other need for speed games .it is still a great game but i would recommend this more for the 8-12 year range
