Signed and dated, acrylic on canvas 16 x 20 inches 2017-2018. In Freemasonry, the Chamber of Reflection is a special room where one contemplates and meditates on the meaningfulness and purpose of their life. The skull represents mortality. There are symbolic references life, death, hope, time, valor, love, fears, regret, loss, martyrdom, responsibility, passion, judgement and eternity. Included are Knights Templar, whose convey devotion to noble ideals. Legendary Hiram Abiff carries his philosophic responsibilities on his shoulders, symbolized by a huge square and compass. His four hands replace the traditional beehive to show industry and unification for common good. demon lurks below to capture and devour any gullible souls.
