    APC RBC7 Plug & Play Replacement Battery Cartridge 7 Review

    This battery was used to replace my older APC battery that died in one of my SmartUPS 1500. I was tempted about purchasing a generic one then I found this genuine one, which I preferred. Since I replaced the battery, I have not had any issues. It has been a few months. It works as expected. I am totally satisfied with this purchase and do not regret anything.

    Decent batteries.

    So, the batteries seem to work great initially. I used one for servers and one for my desktop. I placed my order on December 22nd of 2017 and on December 5th 2019, I had an alert that there was some sort of critical battery issue during a self test. There was no signs of leaking/bulging at least, so I'm grateful for that. So not quite two years! My desktop battery was just fine and also had no signs of leaking and bulging, but I'm just going to replace both batteries anyway to play it safe. Looks like they upped the price a bit since my first order. If the new ones coming don't last, I will probably search elsewhere. EDIT: It is currently December 2021 and updating this to reflect 2 good batteries were purchased in 2019. Buying 2 more to replace these two since it's been 2 years!

    Good stuff, good price

    My buddy has bought from these guys before, so this was my first try. Install went flawlessly, and the SMT1500 is happy with it. Be sure to calibrate after installation.

    Extra year of warranty

    I checked around for a third party battery rather than buying from APC which is usually double the price and found that Schneider Electric is who makes the batteries for APC most of the time and it is the exact batteries that came out of my unit and theirs came with a two-year warranty as opposed to the one-year warranty if I were to buy them from APC 🤨
