I became a Native Instruments fan when I first got Kontakt 5, and then I upgraded to Komplete. It works with any DAW that can use VST instruments, from Reaper to Studio One and more. It even works great with Notion 5 from Presonus (I'm not knocking the bundled instruments that you can get with Notion 5/6, but you can hear the difference easily between those and Native Instruments' VSTs.). The downside? If you want everything to load up when you fire up your DAW, it will slow down the process of your DAW starting up. There are just too many great instruments and plugins, from classical and exotic music to contemporary dubstep and EDM. You might need to be a little selective. I confess, I get carried away. I'm kind of a geek and music is my high some days.

Native instruments plug ins are big and powerful and not cheap - though rewarding if you put in the time. There are free starter setups on the NI site to whet your appetite. When I can afford to I will take advantage of one of their sales and get the Collectors Edition.
