It's been a long winter in Maine so out of boredom, I decided to learn to pick locks. This is the second picking set that I've bought and now my favorite. This set isnt built any better than my first set but has far more useful types of picks. The rakes in this set are of excellent design and let me pick certain locks in record time(personal record time that is lol). I also like the smaller case that this set comes in. Makes it easier to keep in a pocket-or for all you rogues out there-a sock. The only complaint I could voice is that I think the tension bars could be made better. They arent wide enough to catch well in many locks. In fact, they arnt much better than glorified, bent Bobby pins. But the picks are well worth it. The scariest part about this little experiment of mine is how easy lock picking is to learn. I've had my lock picking sets for just 4 days total, never picked a lock in my life before receiving them and now I can pick every lock in the house-including the front door deadbolt. I have several paddle locks made by Master Lock and Guard as well and can now pick those in less than 10 seconds each. One of those locks I lost the key for long ago. Scary how easy picking is to do!! By the way, the practice locks that come with these pick sets help show you the mechanics of lock picking but dont help you learn the skill otherwise. In other words, dont go buying a bunch of see thru paddle locks thinking they will teach you anything more than just one will. They wont. You'll just be wasting money. Oh and dont listen to those who complained that the picks broke. Anyone who breaks one of these picks hasnt learned to use picks correctly in general. Picks arent made to "force" anything. They ate made, in conjunction with tension bars, to gently "set" pins. And notice that a "tension" bar is not called a "pry" bar for very good reason.Read full review

It's a good set for beginners new to the world of lock picking and locksport. i would recommend looking into some more tension wrenches and rakes. what this set comes with is kind of sparse. the clear acrylic lock is a nice addition. it's a good first lock to kind of see what goes on when you pick a lock. i feel like i have to add that after about a week i broke one of the picks (probably my own fault for being too aggressive) and since receiving these a few weeks ago i have purchased some more high quality picks.

I could say it was worth 30 minutes of fun and I did unlock a couple of high security disc locks all 5 pin and a padlock. The padlock that came with it was in pieces with the springs everywhere and it didn’t do me any good to be able to practice on it because it would probably take me all day to figure out how to put it together. Two of the rakes Broke in that 30 minute time and one of them broke in a lock so, there’s an extra 8 bucks. I will say however, this did want me to get a better set so that I can practice and become proficient at it. I am an Auctioneer for storage facilities and I thought it would be nicer to quickly pick the locks then cut them and possibly damage myself or the door or latch. I can see I need a better set but with success already I’m excited! To the credit of the seller it arrived quickly and shipping was free.Read full review

Broke one of the picks immediately. If you stick the pick all the way to the back of the lock and lift the pin, it lifts all other pins to the set point with no extra effort. Got what I paid for
