I purchased one of the intensity pro 4k cards several weeks ago. Before purchasing, I visited Black Magic Design's website for a bit more information. It clearly states that the device can be used for transferring old Vhs and analog video tape, to digital and Dvd format. This, to some extent is partially true...let me explain though. As many people can recall, older Vhs decks had usually composite rca outputs. These connections being yellow, red, and white(Video out, Right channel out, and left channel out) I want to let everyone know, this card with all of it's ins and outs does not have any of the outputs necessary to go directly from a Vcr to the capture device. The Intensity does have a breakout card for some additional inputs, but these are different. Namely, there are component inputs(green, red, and blue) These inputs would be found on some more modern deviced like Dvd Players...Not Vcr's. I purchased a stand alone Vhs to Dvd recorder that had Hdmi outputs as well as every other imaginable input and output. This unit was intended to serve as the Vhs player for the transfer. I hoped the Hdmi would offer a practical solution for the connectivity, but it did not. Also, the composite outputs did not work as intended either. I contacted Black Magic Designs support department for Help. They were extremely helpful and sympathetic to my cause. However, they were also stumped. In addition to this, I could not return the device to them for a refund. And stupid me....had already left a positive feedback score without fully testing the product. So, I could not ask for a refund from the Ebay seller, but only an exchange for the same device. For several days though, I tried everything I could think of. A clean installation of my Windows 7 Pro O.S. Swapping the card's location to every vacant Pci-e slot. Checking my chip set utility and Cmos settings for conflicts. I even upgraded my operating system to Windows 10(at $160.00), hoping it would help in the newer hardware. Nope...this did not work either. Finally, I discovered an adapter within the box, I had previously overlooked. It was an S-video to a green and blue rca (component) adapter. Luckily, after tweaking the settings, I received the signal loud and clear. So ladies and gentlemen...unless you have a Vhs or Svhs deck, with an S-video output...this thing will not work. I would avoid this unit at all costs being it has a lack of backward compatibility for older analog interfaces like mine. Sadly, I do not own any camcorders or Blu ray devices new enough to test the Hd capture features of this device. I am sure it offers stunning results for newer equipment. However, you really need to have your ducks in a row as far as having an all in one Vhs player is concerned. There are many cheaper alternatives available for Vhs transfer. $189.00 is just too much for this device in my opinion. Please take my story as a cautionary tale. If you need this for analog transfers, keep shopping and look elsewhere. The Intensity pro 4k is NOT where it's at. Read full review

I installed this capture card in my Mac Pro (2019), which was an easy process for both the hardware and the software. It works perfectly with the software that came with it as well as with Adobe's and Apple's video eduting software. A fun project I use it for is recording my gameplay on the Commodore 64. I use the famous Framemeister XRGB-mini to stream the output from the Commodore to the Blackmagic.

Bought this card as a less expensive alternative to a full-blown Blackmagic Decklink 4K card for DaVinci Resolve in my older workstation. It was a simple plug and play install and has worked without problems. Be aware the output of this card is only HDMI and if you monitor is strictly Display Port, you will need an optional HDMI to Display port adapter/converter in addition to this card. The Intensity Pro 4K is fully 10 bit for those who need it and have a 10 bit capable monitor. It will work with a 8 bit monitor, but the monitor will not be capable of fully displaying all colors at professional grading standards. The card has a breakout cable to digitizing older analog Standard Definition video formats like component and composite video and audio. Good for capturing and migrating those old VHS, 8mm, Hi8 and other tape based formats before the transports disappear or die from old age.Read full review

When it is installed in a PC, you can capture anything in Analog, but you cannot capture everything in Digital via HDMI, there are restriction in dimensions and bit rate. For better results you must to use Windows 10. I don't know if the same matters with Apple Mac.

Does not work. I have tried a number of software installations and configurations on my Windows 11 PC and still does not work or is even recognised.
