These caps fit my old race jugs perfect . If you just need the cap because it got lost , and not the whole plug , these are the ticket . The seller was awesome . Would definitely buy from again ...

Put one on my gas can. Went in with some E6000 and a good whack. Seems like it should hold.

    Great to have around.

I bought 10 because they were not that much more than 2. I will likely add vents to several plastic gas cans that don't have vents (the new ones). I really needed to replace one on a 5 gal steel can. The cap had been lost and the can side had been damaged. Note that the can side has a center which the cap snaps on, which sticks up. On the steel can it took quite a bit of force to drive it on. I found a 3/8 socket worked well as a driver. On a steel can, you may either need a 13mm drill or to slightly enlarge a 1/2" hole. On plastic, be sure to break the edge of the 1/2" hole to ease the vent in. Also, best to get close to a corner, rather out in the middle of a flat area. If you just lost the cap, then these seem to be a standard size to replace the others I have. When drilling ...

  • A must for today's fuel tanks

I totally hate the newer style pouring valve on the fuel cans you buy today. I have several and my older ones with the vent's are so much better. When I learned I could add a vent to my newer ones, I decided to try them. Installing was not difficult, though I know one should empty the can before installing, I didn't and didn't have any issue(I have done 5 already). Directions show use 2 different drill bit sizes. I found for the tanks with the thicker plastic, you'll want to use the larger of the two. For thinner plastic, go with the smaller bit. I then used a rubber mallet to tap them in. I also had an older jeep style can that the vent was missing. These one were an exact match to replace it. This 10 pack is a good deal. If you don't need that many, give some to friends, they will love ...

  • Exactly what I was looking for and easy to install

Just installed 2 of them in my plastic gas cans when they were empty to make sure none of the plastic from drilling hole might get into my lawn mower gas system. Used a 1/2" drill bit which I had to wallow some as they fit tight like you want them to. I have used this item before in a smaller plastic gas can that came in a kit but I didn't need a new spout so I found these vents and feel they will work great.

  • SUPER PRODUCT - A Great Safety options for Poly Gas Cans/Containers

These Vent Caps are a MUST HAVE to install in Poly gasoline cans. They work great to allow the gas fumes to escape from the cans when they are stored in a proper location. They are easy to install in ALL poly gas cans. I highly recommend. (DH Akron, OH)

  • Great inexpensive solution

These little fuel container vents work perfectly! I have 3 of the new style gasoline jugs with the new pain in the butt nozzles that don't work and create a mess every time one tries to pour fuel. I bought a pack of these vents and installed them along with 3 old style nozzles that I bought online. Problem solved! it literally only takes a few minutes to install a vent - just follow the easy instructions. Drill a 1/8 inch pilot hole, then follow up with a 1/2 hole and then tap in the vent with a rubber mallet OR a regular hammer with a piece of wood over the vent to protect it. I gave a few of these to my brother to solve the same problem.
