I've been a fan of this series since plating the orginal Blood Omen on the PS. So, of course I as excited to learn that this was out on the NGC. The overall gameplay is pretty much on par with Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. You have the levels intermingled with various low-level enemies to take out and puzzles that have become LoK staples. Of course there are various bystanders that you either feed from or leave alone. The Boss battles are the hardest part of the game. Each character requires a certain procedure in order to best them. I would advise searching the net to find out (much easier than trial & error). After defeating each boss you get a new ability that will aid in your quest. I really enjoed this game & would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the series.
If you want to play a game where you are a vampire who drains his enemy's blood at the touch of a button, this game is for you. It is why I bought it.

The original Blood Omen on the PS1 was awesome, but Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was a let down for me. I thought it sucked, but that's ok. Time has passed, and Kain has awoke with the same wickedness, and thirst that had guided through his first journey in Blood Omen 2. This is a great game. Kane has a few new tricks in this one. It's a lot of fun to play!
I decided to purchase it because i played Legacy of Kain, then Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, then Soul Reaver 2, the the newer one where Raziel and Kain are on the same side to defeat a common enemy. Yet i never played Legacy of Kain 2, so that is the reason i purchased it. Gameplay was ok, they could have added a brightness option. The Random yet predictable "hissing" of Kain was fun at first. I gave the game a 7/10.
