No Marvel Legends X-Men collection is complete without the 2004 Marvel Legends Series 6 Phoenix action figure. This character rose to prominence in classic story line "The Phoenix Saga," a force inhabiting the body of Jean Grey. This figure stands roughly 6 inches in height and scales perfectly with other Marvel Legends superheroes such as Captain America. The Dark Phoenix variant has eyes that are completely white and a sinister smile on her face. Her costume is a striking red and gold color. Her hair is also sculpted differently, with the variant rendition featuring flowing hair. This Marvel Legends Series 6 toy features over 44 points of articulation. Some of the standouts include double-jointed knees and elbows, multiple joints in the upper legs, and rocker ankles. In fact, even the fingers on this Marvel Legends Series 6 figure are fully articulated. These joints allow you to set up the figure in any number of poses from the comics. Whether she is squaring off against Deadpool or Wolverine, this figure can achieve some lifelike stances. For example, you can pose her locked in combat with the Hulk, grabbing him firmly by the arm. You could pose her in a flying position as well, with her head looking to the clouds. The only limit to what you can do with this toy from the Marvel Universe is your imagination. The joints are made from a high-quality combination of AVS and PVC plastic. No matter how you manipulate the toy, the joints will not break. This plastic also ensures the joints will not become loose over time. While the character is known for wearing a tight bodysuit, this Toy Biz action figure features some sculpted detail. The belt is sculpted over the bodysuit, with wrinkles and folds giving it a lifelike appearance. The paint on this Marvel action figure is fantastic. Even though she comes from a comic book, the paint gives the product a realistic appearance. Clean lines separate the gold from the rest of the costume. Phoenix's bird emblem on her chest is also clearly drawn with no paint overspray. Phoenix's hair features subtle highlights in it, giving it the appearance of being slightly on fire. The shading on her face brings out the finer details, such as her cheekbones. The figure's paint also uses a high-quality sealant. This sealant ensures the paint does not scratch or chip during normal use. It also makes the product resistant to water as well. Jean Grey comes with two accessories. The first is a reproduction of X-Men 101, a comic book that focuses mostly on this character. This book will shed light on just who Phoenix is and the powers that she wields. The second accessory is a solid piece of plastic that resembles a fiery bird. This is how Phoenix manifests her power. This bird has a clip on it so the figure can be attached. This will give the appearance of her flying in the air.
