I bought this radio to replace an existing MX300, so it was an easy replacement. The major draw back from this radio is the panel size is large for a nav/com unit. Also I really wish the auto squelch could be overwritten with a manual control on the outside. The squelch can be changed by a potentiometer inside the casing, but you have to take it to an avionics show to do this. All in all, the radio does what it needs to do. Several times you won't be able to pick up weather/atc, but if you hold the "test" button to disable all squelch, the signal is loud and clear.

Has not failed after a year in service. I had to repair my old RT-328T radios at least once or twice a year, and even then they performed poorly (or great for 50 year old radios, depending on how you look at it). Never had any question about the great performance of my high serial number latest version made TKM 300 radio.

It is a perfect plug-in replacement for the old Cessna RT328 radio which was very unreliable. This TKM MX300 has clear digital displays and crystal clear reception wit flip flop frequencies for both Com frequencies and VOR frequencies.

Like this radio a lot, especially the flip/flop capabilities. Just wished it had a on/off switch.
