I didn’t want an expensive system that would tempt would be thieves to steal it.

Good for the money but
Item works fine for the money. I wanted to use it on a boat. Not bright enough in day light. Got one for my son's boat also. It caused static on his stereo. Seems to work fine in my car. Hard to complain about the item at that price.

Damages cards
The dashcam damaged 3 different sd cards the second I installed it. I get a message "format SD card". After that no computer or any other device can open that card. I can't format it or change it. Also backup camera doesn't work.

Not very user friendly.
Once you fill your memory card it stops recording until you reformat the card. You have to do this every time. Also not easy to retrieve recorded video.
