Rented this 2 days ago. Great sequel. Even though James Cameron has claimed this is a direct sequel to ''PART 2'', it's actually ''PART 6''. It made no sense to skip the other sequels and go directly to this newest film. The other films were good. This newest film begins with the death of Sarah's son John. A terminator has finally suceeded in killing off John and ever since then, over the last 2 decades, Sarah has been on a relentless rampage killing terminators. But now, in the year 2020, with Skynet destroyed, a NEW threat called ''LEGION'', has sent a new more highly advanced terminator from the future to wipe out a new target. A woman who has a man's name, DANNY. She has no idea she is a target until a woman who is also from the future by the resistence is sent to save her. Her name is Grace. Grace and Sarah, along with the terminator who killed her son John, fight to stop the new terminator sent to kill Danny. I know their will be another film. Hopefully, it will be as good as this one.Read full review

I have watched every Terminator movie. They started good. Unlike most films the sequel was better. The 3rd was pointless but enjoyable. The 4th made no sense. The 5th was confusing but fun. This was, while they at least brought James Cameron back into production (he is a producer as well as partially conceived the story), just not entertaining in any way. The fact that they would attempt to do more stuff with only T1&2 as back story is actually a good thing. Too much back story gets convoluted, regardless of if the films were good or not. (Plus Linda Hamilton didn't want to do T3, so now they have to revamp the timeline so Sarah Connor can be in it.) I'm not against doing Terminator without John Connor. But they killed him so they could do a movie with 3 female heroes. It would have been better if they just remade Terminator from the beginning, instead of giving a dark fate with a new heroine; who isn't made clear if she is female John Connor, or the mother of the real John Connor (before time travel paradox). Now, getting into this film: It's too long! The film is about 2 hours, which would be fine it it was a good film, but it felt like watching paint dry. I just wanted to see the result. The journey was not enjoyable. They wasted time on 2 specific scenes that should have omitted. One is they get arrested and escape. The other is stealing a weapon from the military, which isn't even used. The whole thing is just poorly down action scenes that don't do anything that other Terminator movies didn't do better before. It's heroes running from a super villian for 2 hours, while 1 of them had ability to defeat the villian all along. (Oh yes, cause if they did that at the beginning, there wouldn't be a film to make money.) Furthermore the ending just doesn't make any sense. Dani is upset at her female protectors death and wants to change it, but that would imply more random dark fates without having a protector. The only good thing is the villian terminator is definitely the strongest one yet. Having the shape shifting ability of the T1000, the weapon ability of the TX, and the strength of the T800. But it doesn't redeem the film in any way. If anyone must know, the DVD doesn't have any bonus material except for captions.Read full review

I have always been a huge fan of the Terminator series. This installation in the series is the weakest of all of them. I don't recommend this movie. The special effects were okay. The acting was so so. I was very disappointed being a massive Terminator fan.

This movie was a vain attempt to surpass the original Terminator movie. There was amaturish acting an a lot of over acting. Terminator: Dark Fate is, by every defination, a B movie, and its smaller than block buster budget shows. That being said, for the price I paid, it is somewhat entertaining. I would definately classify it as "junkfood for the brain".

wonderful, powerful, well made movie. Best of the Terminator by far. I will not tell you more about it, as I do not want to spoil it. Buy it, you will like it. Also looking forward to sequels in this story line
