The compression vest is very good for my cat, when it is not on her, she tears her skin to pieces due to her diseases. Unfortunately, she has replaced 1 habit w/ another: Scratching w/ her right leg to over her right flank to "itch." It's a nervous tick she's developed now that she can't lick her skin off, and I had to buy a new Thundershirt after 1 month-she had scratched a huge hole right through it. This is #2, and I put safety pins all over the front right, but she knows now she is behaving wrong, and I have slowed it almost to a dead stop. But I DO wish these were made of stronger material, and that the Velcro was stronger. She actually licked the front of the vest open several times before I pinned that too. Also once the Velcro has enough loose cat hair on it, good luck getting it off and making it stick together for any length of time. I am very very glad that this product is available, I just wish they had my cat for their R & D Dept. I'd add photos, but my cat freaks out when she sees a camera.Read full review

Our cat tried to get out of this. Couldn't walk right with it on. It got twisted on him. He was more scared than without it on. He is a "scaredy cat" to begin with. I had to capture him and take it off...he hated it. Didn't work for him.

Love love love this product. I had to use it on my cat when he had hotspots to keep him from licking the medicine off, but I quickly learned this shirt was great for all kinds of things! My cat LOVES riding in the car, but I loaned them to my step daughter (Read that as GAVE, I never got them back); whose cats have extreme anxiety in cars. She drove from Texas to Pennsylvania in a move with the cats who wore my two Thundershirts! They did FANTASTIC! TRUE TO SIZE. If you don't know your cat's weight, step on a scale without the cat, then get back on WITH the cat. Cat may walk funny while wearing the shirt, but it works like a charm.

Trying to introduce new kittens to my four resident cats and one of the adult females would always chase the little ones until they ended up hiding in a closet all day. I read about someone using a Thundershirt to calm an aggressive cat and decided to try one. Even though the shirt is too long for her and tends to bunch up behind her front legs, the fit around her middle is the right size and she can't wriggle out. It didn't take her long to get used to moving around and she can still climb but it slows her down and she tends to settle down somewhere and sleep. When the kittens are exploring, she watches them but doesn't make any attempt to give chase. The only downside is that without the Thundershirt on, she is back to normal, so we have to separate the kittens behind a screen. We are hoping this is a training aid and she will eventually learn to accept the kittens like the other three cats have.Read full review

Thunder Shirt is very well made. Appears durable for long-time use. Our male cat does not object to wearing it during thunder storms, but doesn't appear crazy about it either, which is the reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. He looks as though he's wearing an animal version of a strait jacket (which I believe, in reality, it is.) Glad I purchased it. Another "tool" for managing our "high anxiety" feline.
