This Kenwood KDC-X702 is an upgrade single din HD stereo for my 82 Porsche. It replaces an older model Kenwood with several improvements mainly: built-in HD radio, Bluetooth access to my phone, and the versitile Excelon sound controls. Additionally, I added a Sirius/XM tuner to enhance my frequent trips from Denver to the middle of Nebraska and our second home. Easy install and a great new look for my classic 911SC.

UPDATE: I had this radio for just over a year and a half and it was working fine one afternoon and the next morning: nothing. It just died out of nowhere. The warranty was expired, so I was out of luck. For the money, I think I could have done better. Some nit-picks: The buttons are mushy and too small to be comfortable. It's easy to press the wrong one. Also, the display never really dimmed enough for my preference; it was always too bright at night. __________________________________________________________________________________ I replaced a factory AM/FM tuner with the KDC-X702 and am so far very satisfied. It's one of the only units with Apt-X Bluetooth, so music streamed from my phone sounds great. The manual EQ is pretty good. The LED color options are also offer enough options for most people. Also, the HD radio feature also automatically sets the date and time, so I don't have to dig through the menus, which is very convenient. I have not yet tried the hands free functionality, but Google Assistant works through the microphone like I expected it to. So far, I only wish the unit would dim with the dash adjustment, but I don't know of any manufacturers that make units capable of this. Dimming is easy though, you just press and hold the display button for a second and the unit dims a little. Also, the buttons are mushy. I wish they had more of a tactile click to them. Other than those two gripes, I can't think of anything else I would change.Read full review

I have owned many kenwood receivers over the years. This is my favorite thus far. Despite other reviewers complaints, I like the softer feeling of the buttons. The cheap click that buttons make on cheaper units is not my style. Tons of EQ adjustability. 2 usb ports and an aux port. HD radio gives me more stations without any monthly fees. Its everything I want without paying for things I dont. Sounds brilliant in my jeep wrangler.

I bought this to replace a pioneer head unit that didnt have enough rca out puts. And I was blown away at how much better of a unit it truly was. Ive had the top alpine single din that cost me 250ish that couldnt top the sound quality. It has all the bells and whistles that much more expensive. Cut to the point if your on a budget but want quality sound this is your unit!
