I built my first AMD computer bc I was growing tired of Intel's prices and locked processors. I got this 1600 bc it is 6 core and runs 12 threads. It will handle anything you throw at it and for a great price!!! Domt even bother getting the "x" version as all of the processors are unlocked so they can all obtain higher clock speeds via the mobo settings. I put the processor in my rig with 32gb of RAM, an ASUS B350 Prime mobo and dual R9 380 graphics cards in Crossfire. I play all games on Ultra settings with AA on...usually at 4x and I pull 60fps at 1080 all day. I can get higher fps but my TV is only 60hz so I capped it. I highly recommend this processor for gaming!!!

I haven't had a chance to really enjoy it nor focus on its abilities.. but its working ok.. I have more pressing lingering issues from install surrounding inabilities of uefi bios locating cd /dvd rom.. I haven't had a chance to push the chip nor cool the chip more that i would like to do.. but it seems stable and the multi-threading capabilities is evident in its stability, ease of operation with multiple windows open without any memory thrashing.. that's quite obvious. Feel free to send later chips in this line for a thorough review..

These things are easy to install just like every other processor. The best part is the performance to dollar ratio. Perfect for everything from light gaming to photo manipulation. It gets the work done fast and the included cooler will handle a moderately over clocked processor with ease. I always liked AMD and now that they are becoming competitive again the have become the smart choice as well.

Powerful CPU that offers a great value. Easily out performs the FX based processor series for any work load. Boost clock defaulted to 3.7ghz @ 1.45v, I dropped voltage to 1.375 and kept the boost clock. System is stable. The packaged cooler is more than enough to handle this chip with overclocks on load. I feel no need in replacing the stock thermal paste either Highly recommended this chip in a system build for anyone wanting to do more than surf the internet. (My standard use is for gaming, video encoding and college level programming)

Overclocks easy to 3.7 with no change to voltage. Incredibly fast, and gives very stable framerates in games. This and the Ryzen 1700 are the best cpus you can buy for the money today, but I'd still choose this since they both have the same amount of L3 cache.
