These aren't just "yellow" lenses. They are Ambermatics- a patent held by the original Bausch and Lomb to this day which means these are limited run as they are only allowed to produce so many sets under license. So they will change color depending on the light and relative temperature, making them ideal for outdoorsmen, hunters, and the like. The leather temple wraps are a bit over the top but for Ambermatics at less than half the cost? I'll put up with it. Also a cute clerk up at Whole Foods has already complimented these, alone of my multiple pairs, so there's that then.

Not the vintage ones, nor do they last as well. My last pair of these new Luxotica made Ambermatics lost the sweat bar within a couple of months. If these do the same, I'll return them as 200.00 a pair is too much for disposable glasses. I don't care what the label says- they are NOT proper Ambermatics. The formula for them is STILL held by the original patent holders which isn't Luxotica. The proof is in the pictures- those are 80's vintage REAL Ambermatics next to these in the photo, compare the color. '80s Ambermatics are the darkest they were ever made, the ones from the 60s-70s are a lot lighter but NOT to the extent of these Luxoticas.

Living in the South, light intensity is always changing. The Ambermatics takes care of that problem, especially if yo are blue eyed.

I love these classic Ray Bans. I owned a pair in the '80s and lost them, so I had to have another pair.
