I needed a 2nd, matching drill to the one I owned, and bought this one, even though it was priced higher than comparable drills only, because it included a battery and both were advertised as new. When I received them, they appeared new. The drill works fine, but the battery will not charge, and the charger yello light indicates the battery is defective.

I've had a Ryobi HP412 for about three years. Used very little. The drill works fine and at first seemed like a good bargain. But batteries will no longer hold a charge. The only 12v new replacements I can find are $247 for a pair! I've now found out the same is true with many other Ryobi cordless drills. Bad batteries. Ryobi is apparently using the same business model as the manufactures of computer printers. Sell the printer dirt cheap and then make money on ink cartridges. In this case of Ryobi, sell the drills cheap and make money on battery replacements.

The drill is a little rough around the edges but it works well enough. It must have a small voltage leak because batteries discharge without use. It's not a big problem - I just don't leave a battery connected when not in use

I think it's a cute little drill, and it will be great for minor chores. I don't know if I can use it to drill holes in glass, which was my intention, but I'm glad I have a drill I can call my own. :)
This was a light and strong drill, that is adjustable for all type of drills. I am very happy with the unit. I recommend it to anyone that needs a dependable that will run a long time on the barrery
