    Great DP Compilation that also sounds great!

    Great compilation including so many awesome DP songs and all the anthems everyone knows. Some have mentioned the songs are not well-mixed -- too much bass, etc. The recording quality of the CD pressing I received is absolutely excellent both on my home audio and also RIP'd to my MP3 player. If you like Deep Purple, buy it -- you'll love this CD.

    Deep Purple - Nuff Said!

    Deep Purple; what an excellent band. The Deep Purple* line up has but a few incarnations, referred to by DP* fans as Mark 1, 11, 111, 1V, V, V1 and V11. Each line up being great, fans (as fans will) debate which line up was their favorite and/or the best. Many listeners do not realize how important this band was in paving the way for future Metal and Thrash bands. Metallica, Anthrax and many others will all say that Deep Purple was a favorite and major influence. Deep Purple also gave us, Blackmore's Rainbow (lead by Ritchie Blackmore) and White Snake (lead by David Coverdale). Roger Glover went on to produce for Nazareth and Judas Priest.     Superb all studio tracks BEST OF classic hard rock release from the Purple

    There are a number of BEST OF Deep Purple collections out there and over the years I've had quite a few of them, but this 14 track version is perhaps the best of the lot. If you want a truly comprehensive career spanning collection, then the box set or a 2 Cd version would be best. But if like me you prefer earlier Deep Purple to the later version, then the VERY BEST of DEEP PURPLE is the release for you. Features most of the great early tracks including "Hush", "Smoke on the Water", "Space Truckin'", "Highway Star" & "Knocking At Your Back Door". Biggest reason to buy this one though is the 10 minute+ epic "Child In Time" which you can't buy on iTunes except for a subpar live version. Plus the 14 tracks on this ...

    A great way to enjoy Deep Purple on modern listening devices.

    I purchased this CD to add to my collection of songs I grew up with, I am 50 years young. I have these songs on records, yes vinyl, but they are scratchy and not worth converting to digital storage. I also anticipate using it for DJ work at specific events such as motorcycle rallies where "bubble gum pop" won't cut it. The shipping and pricing were as expected. No issues with the merchant, overall a good experience. Because the music was produced in the early 70's, the sound quality is not what todays production quality is. So the dynamics isn't as good and overall sound is somewhat flat. But I appreciate that because that is the way the vinyl record was and in this case no ticks and pops. Thus we can enjoy it as we remember it, only better! So, if ...

    One of the best Deep Purple Greatest hits albums

    Deep Purple's best music resides on a handful of albums and any greatest hits album will focus on their hits, and pick from all the other songs to complete the package. This handful of other songs will make or break the Hits album, in this case it helps. "The Very Best of Deep Purple," is slightly over 75 minutes with 12 of the 15 tunes included Purple's best lineup with BOTH Ian Gillan and Ritchie Blackmore. The CD booklet contains lengthy liner notes and photographs from various periods in the band's history. Overall, it is the best of numerous Purple anthology albums.
