Being in college, I don't have daily access to a newspaper with a syndicated advice column, which has been part of my morning routine for years. I bought this book so I could continue this habit and because I have already read the entire Best Of Dear Abby book. It is hard to find a really entertaining letter in Ann Lander's book, funny or scandalous, and I am generally unimpressed with the wit of her replies. Most of the book reads like a public service announcement. If you're like me and enjoy advice columns written by old, Jewish women it certainly gets the job done and I do recommend this book, but I would also suggest investing in The Best of Dear Abby first.
I knew buying this book would be a great "ACTIVITY-PROGRAM" in the nursing home! I am in Therapeutic Recreation & the residents love to sit in a cozy room, have a cup of coffee, a cookie, and hear short readings from the book! PERFECT! Marcella
