"Diamonds" is the perfect summation of the first five albums by Ronnie James Dio's self-titled band. The album cherry-picks Dio's most well-known tracks, beginning with the 1983 debut, "Holy Diver," through 1990's "Lock Up The Wolves." The mandatory addition of "Hide in the Rainbow" from "The Dio E.P." solidifies "Diamonds" as an ideal introductory Dio compilation. Anybody wanting to delve further than this into the DIO archive would probably be better served by buying the studio albums individually (though you might be disappointed by the releases that followed "Lock Up The Wolves"). A great reminder of the best work by a lil' rocker who is no longer with us. RIP, Dio. - DJMikeDee
