    Better you can't get of Gerry Rafferty at one cd!!

    This cd is a little gem. Classic pop songs from the 70s, but still relevant in the Twenty-first century. The first number 'Baker Street' with such a beautiful and impressive saxophone solo of Raph Ravenscroft set the mood for this album. After hearing this number you wanna hear more. The second 'whatever written in your heart' is so beautiful, a gospel-like number. Just two and all the rest of the same quality. Some numbers are reminiscent of Roxy Music. It's indeed a best of, but an album which is still relevant! If you have played all the numbers, you push the repeat buttom and listen again. It has so much emotion and the lyrics are relevant. A little gem in an ocean of mediocre pop albums, if you buy it you won't be disappointed! I have bought this album ...

    Not a bad collection from Scotland's greatest songwriter. This brief taste of Gerry's brilliance is unfortunately missing one of my favs from him, 'Home and Dry' ( thus the four star rating). However, 'Baker Street', 'Right Down the Line', and 'Get it Right Next Time' are included and round out an otherwise wide assortment of different styles from this late, great, humble man.

    I have always like Gerry Rafferty.

    Gerry was introduced to me back in 1979, and I was hooked. His music is appealing to me because it is laid back and also right to the point. Its a cross between bluesy and rock at times, and some of the songs speak right to the heart. He has a mellow voice, and his melodies are smooth and easy on the ears. This album in particular has a great mix of his music that I like. I usually listen to this album when I am at the computer and want to wind down. I lost this album once and spent some time searching for another one. Was worth the time and effort.

    The right album at the right time

    My wife had spent a lot of time looking around locally searching for this album and since it was a chart topping older album it was not available anywhere, so I checked ebay and sure enough a very good choice of the album in used condition, but still in very usable condition so I picked someone with a good price that lived a reasonable short distance and within 4 days I was able to surprise my wife with it, and yes she plays it all the time and loves it. I could not survive with out my ebay resource available 24/7 having everything I need at a good price.
