Finally got to use this spreader and man does this thing throw the contents! Gear ratio is also very fast so it spins the wheel quickly but still turns EZ. Has a good strong feeling to it's gears and overall general build appears high quality. I will take care of it and we'll see how long it lasts. I think it is well worth the money so far and it will put out a Bunch of seed or fertilizer or whatever in a very short time. Throws it really far too, so you can really cover some ground! Shoulder harness is simple but effective. I highly recommend this if you have a decent to bigger size yard. Cheap push and hand held spreaders are flat out junk(Not the $200 Lesco ones, the cheap scotts type).........I have one sitting that I may even recycle......This one ROCKS!

Light plastic construction. Functions as needed. Seed lever is not easy to use for extended time use, too hard on finger after seeding 3-4 acres. Needs better lever grip and stronger plastic in this area, flimsy. Buy the upgraded model with solid seed bucket for bigger jobs. Good for small occasional use. Used for seeding pollinator NWSG mix and switchgrass. Worked well with using oil dry or encap granules for buffer/filler carrier for seed.

Got this spreader this summer and have used it to spread fertilizer and seed on a few small food plots and one larger one and it has worked great. So far I've used it to plant oats, wheat and rye. It has plastic tabs to hold the sides of the bag up for filling. I wish they were a little sturdier, but they definitely help when filling by yourself. The spreader mechanism works smoothly and seems sturdy. It also comes with suggested spreader settings (which, by the way, is very easy to adjust) for different types of seed. Overall it seems to be a great spreader at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

I like this a lot more than the push spreaders, I don't have to fight over the bumps and hills which is really nice, just like walking through the yard. I haven't figured out how to completely avoid getting some pellets on my, similar to a brodcast spreader. My 65 yo dad borrowed mine once, threw his drop spreader away and bought one of these for himself. Yes you do have to carry the weight on your sholders, I just make more frequent trips to fill it up. Used on a 1/3 acre and no issues for me. The only improvement I would like is to the product opening door, it gets tiresome to hold open.

This nylon bagged seed spreader is easy to use and has held up well. The nylon bag is smooth, hardy, and easy to clean. The plastic parts are unaffected by fertilizer too.
