I missed this band the first time around, essentially because, even with their Merseybeat/British Invasion sound, they never cracked the American market. The band did experience UK chart success, however, with "It's Love That Really Counts" (#24), "Don't Turn Around" (#13), "Wishin' and Hopin' "(#13), "Last Night" (#40), "I Love You, Yes I Do" (#22), "I Stand Accused" (#38) and the finest track here and one that I'm surprised didn't break here in the states, "I Think of You" (#5). Only the ramped-up show tune, "Hello, Young Lovers" seems out of place. If you're into "name" invasion groups such as The Beatles, The Searchers, Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas, Gerry and The Pacemakers and so on, The Merseybeats will satisfy. No text. Brief booklet. 20 tracks. 45:42.
