Fishing with polarized sunglasses is nothing new. How polarized lenses allow you to better see beneath the water is also well known. What isn't common knowledge is how well different lenses encased in sunglasses made by different manufacturers work. There's no shortage of manufacturers promoting sunglasses they claim are for fishing. I've worn many different types with many different lenses. I worked as an attorney, as in house counsel, for a company that sold fishing equipment. I had access to whatever I wanted at half the price. Your two best companies are Costa Del Mar and Smith. Sunglasses made by either contain the best lenses. I'll limit this to the Smith Guide's Choice. However, I do want to add that the blue lenses from Costa, 580P or 580G are not what you want for inshore. In my opinion, they're not what you want for anything. All that blue lense color does is darken what you see. It doesn't improve your ability to see anything. Unlike many manufacturers, Smith uses premium materials that result in an attractive, durable, and functional pair of sunglasses. The Guide's Choice model has earpieces that help ensure light is blocked. Smith developed Chromapop lenses. This technology is incredibly effective in allowing you to see beneath the surface. They come with a lifetime warranty. Moreover, this model comes with a neck strap sunglass keeper! You install the ends of the keeper fit directly into the ends of the earpieces! Very neat and highly beneficial. Basically, you're ready to roll as soon as you open the case containing your new shades.Read full review
