I decided to buy this book, because my Rival Crock-Pot slow cooker came with a mini cookbook. I'm usually browsing online for recipes to use. When I saw this on here, I was excited. No more running to the computer to find dinner. Now, I have it at my fingertips. I really like this book. Chapter 1 is all about Hints and Tips. That is a must. Every chapter is filled with easy recipes. On every page they have "hints" on the outer edge of the page e.g. "For a 5,6, or 7 qt Crock-Pot, double all ingredients, except ___ " Also, above those hints, it tells what kind of dish it is and examples of what top serve with. The only flaw with this book is that there could have been a larger lowfat chapter. I have picky eaters. It's kind of hard to find something everyone liked with those few pages. Eating healthy is hard enough with a house full of boys. My favorite part is the Meals for Busy Cooks section. Simple, great meals, and even a few you wouldn't think you could do in a crock-pot. I bought a slow cooker and hadn't used one in years. This book was very helpful, with great new ideas. Great new ideas to bring to the table, instead of the same old meals. I do recommend this book, if you need a change.
I've made a few recipes from this book, thus far, and they have been wonderful. The only thing I dislike about it is that it's soft cover. I like my cookbooks to be hardcover- as I think they last longer, and are more durable. But, other than that, it's a great slow-cooker cookbook. I would definitely recommend.

This is the one my mom had and I am grateful to have a copy, as we all wanted it when she passed on. Many good recipes with good clear instructions. More sophisticated than Betty Crocker, more like restaurant quality results.
