I use this with a very fine finish in a buffing like mode. When sanding I have two, the other a Makita. The Makita seems to have a more aggressive attack and I use it with more course papers to work a project down. so this Bosch is used as a finisher before hand rubbing. It has an awesome vacuum system and blows the dust out the tube very well. In fact the best I have encountered for dust removal. You must use the attached bag/paper filter with it, or the supplied attachment with your shop blower. I use the shop blower. Dust is my main concern in my shop. I suppose this Bosch would also work as an aggressive machine as well, I just use it for finishing, and it does an awesome job. I have no cons other than the fact it could use a more forward hold down for the second hand for support. Otherwise, no complaints. I like both my machines for sanding, each with its own purpose and both work very well. This sander is one of my better buys. I do recommend highly. I do scroll saw work and need to fine sand, sometimes with up to 1000 grit papers. The Bosch sander works well for this. A fine machine. Read full review

Have not used the dust filter since I always attach a shop vac. The included vacuum hose adaptor attaches to sander with an O-ring and pulls off too easily. Had to secure with duct tape. Only time will tell how durable this sander is.

Can not be happier with this sander!!! Use it daily from heavy sanding to very light finish sanding, I have not used the dust bag that comes with it, I already have a attachment that fits perfectly for my JET dust collector, great product, fits comfortably in either hand, gets a little warm from long uses but thats to be expected, would definitely buy again!!

lightweight, adjustable speed is nice option to have on this sander. The vacuum hose attachment works good. No complaints so far. The attached dust bag does fill up quickly and should be emptied often if you are doing a lot of sanding.

I have an 8' x 2' x 3" slice of red cedar rough-cut from a sawmill, from which I will make a table. I bought this Bosch random orbital sander to sand the cedar, and am extremely happy with the results; the Bosch is a pleasure to use, lightweight and easily manoeverable. It sands evenly which means I don't have to fear making start and stop marks, and the filter keeps the dust well. I am very glad I have it.
