First set 2011 - $250 had fancy box with radio dial that worked when you twisted it. Second press - 2016? Same thing? But no fancy box yet cheaper. 15 cds - of which have 15 minute radio segments that mothers best contracted hank to return to Nashville every weekend during 1951. Hence the recording. But each 15 minute segment has an introduction- 1 maybe 2 songs by hank and then a long advertisement. So these talking repetition will greatly hinder any repeat listening and grows weary on the first listen. Often hank only sings one song and someone else sings. Four cds has someone who talks over hank the entire time. Last -15th- cd only has like 2 songs so you are really getting 1 cd of music and 14 of introductory messages and advertising. I did not watch the DVD - - this is my opinion.Read full review

If you like Hank Williams, this is a collection to have. Another reviewer stated that there was too much talking and advertising, not enough music. I was interested in the collection for the historical value, recorded live at the WSM Nashville Studios, just as it was broadcast in the early 1950s. The advertising was Hank Williams promoting Mother's Best products, hence the reason for the creation of the show. The recordings gives one the real insight to the real Hank, raw uncut, Hank just being himself. If you don't want to hear nothing but music I suggest buying one of the many other Hank Williams albums/CDs that are out there. Barr none, this is a rare slice of Country Music History.
