Another great ASUS networking product. If this thing doesn't have it, you don't need it! I love that is has 8 Ethernet ports instead of just 4. This was huge for me and I'm sure many others as well. After trying dozens of wireless routers over the years, I now only use ASUS products and sell them as well. I have found no better solution for my customers' wireless needs and the AI Mesh features of their routers make them the top of the game. Well done Asus!

I purchased this to replace 6 Apple Airport Extreme AC routers / AP's. I currently run approx 97 devices on my home network 10 of which are Cloud Security cameras that the Apple routers were constantly dropping every other day to to DHCP constraints. That problem seems to be fixed with the purchase of this Asus router. The firmware of this unit is very lacking. Simple requirements to over write the names and icons of discovered devices does not work for me at all. This means I need to figure out "on the fly" what device is on a specific IP Address by its discovered name or by its MAC Address. When you run 97 devices its a REAL BUMMER. The firmware has lots of other issues but my network is stable as long as I don't need to do anything drastic. The unit does not completely serve great wifi throughout my 4400 square foot 2 story home so I have has to add two Airport Extreme units set up as APs on ether end of my house to get the best signal. My hope is that the firmware gets a lot better. The unit does have some pretty cool network analysis capabilities. In another year, when they work out the bugs in the firmware, this will be the router too buy.Read full review

The biggest problem with this router is it crashes a lot. Firmware upgrade has helped but some of the features this router has are still unusable. Which brings me to this. Some of the features this router has I wanted and paid for. Sad thing is some of these features are also the ones that currently don't work proper or at all.. Another strange issue this router has is that it adds about 20ms more latency to my whole network. Which for a gaming router is crazy! I am very shocked that this router has the ASUS ROG name on it. Its not at all the quality they are known for. The only good thing might be the wireless end of it. But that also seems to be iffy.. It looks cool but cool doesn't get you far. For the money I would look at something different. Specially if your a gamer. Not worth the headache or the price. Read full review

I have never had an issue with this device. I have it setup so i can vpn to my house when i am away, i have the print server function enabled and i monitor the network on my phone. All of these features work perfectly. Also white listing works fine without any errors, bandwidth prioritization and the 2nd 5GHz network is very helpful when I am trying to level the wireless network resources to multiple devices. There are at least 20 devices in my house that use the network and this is the very best router i have ever used

Router was good overall and looked like new. About 15min. after setting it up the router stopped broadcasting all wifi signals. After reading some forums i found out that the gt-ac5300 is plagued with early hardware failures. Called Asus tech support and got it fixed by them under warranty. Still even though I had to get it repaired the gt-ac5300 is still one of the best top tier routers that one can purchase.
