Truly the best songs, with lyrics included, of childhood cartoons that teach in a fun way important elementary topics. I am disappointed that there were no videos with the songs; for it is the vision with the lyrics that solidify memory. But they have helped my kids learn, as I did, some of the most difficult topics in elementary. I recommend search & view the old videos, then play the songs and the kids laugh & remember them better.
I admit I am biased in the I grew up with Schoolhouse Rock and those tunes are imbedded in my mind. I think today’s kids would also benefit from learning the Preamble, about Interjections!, etc. in such catchy ways, which is why I purchased it for my kids.

This CD is packed FULL of all WONDERFUL & FUN educational songs! Timeless! Years ago, the songs were put to unique and special cartoon characters and shown on ABC Television, to help children learn and understand a variety of topics (Ex: english language, math, history, law). Happy, wholesome, and uplifting, each song is packed with rhymes, verses, and exclaimations that you'll always remember! Now as an adult, I still remember and sing along to parts of these songs. I was excited to be able to share this with my own children, even though the TV program/cartoons are not on TV anymore.
I always loved Schoolhouse Rock as a kid - it's the reason that I can still recite (sing) The Preamble of the Constitution today. So I bought this for nostalgic reasons and yet I am thrilled with what my kids, 5 & 8, are learning. Of course they now know the Preamble and even did a school presentation singing it for everyone, but they also know that an interjection "shows excitement and emotion, generally set apart in a sentence by an exclamation point or by a comma if the feelings not as strong." "No More Kings" is an incredible little retelling of the Pilgrims voyage to the new world and our eventual succession from England and why. We love the math songs and the girls have fun singing both "3 is a Magic Number" and "Figure 8," all the while learning multiplication facts without even knowing it! Production on this product is good, better than the Schoolhouse Rock DVD which I found grainy in picture and the audio very flat and difficult to listen to. We put this in and listen to it while driving around running errands and laugh and learn while doing it.Read full review
