This book is very useful for all levels of grooming. especially the new groomer, or the self learner. Easy to understand guides. give you all the proper instructions and pictures for the actual cut and hair growth direction. It gives you a listing of all the tools you will need for that particular cut. Also, the pictures are divided into sections (with arrows) and in each section it shows which clipper blade to use. Other information is general, but useful, such as: bathing, cleaning ears and teeth, and nail grooming. A great book to have in your collection. It is by far the best grooming book.
Great information for the new entry level dog groomer.

This is not intended for a beginner. The pics are hard to determine. couldn't tell where or how to cut the face of the dog I have
I purchased this book to replace one that someone "borrowed" without my consent and never returned. It's an okay reference book for groomers. The beginning instructions on each breed of dog are repetitive, such as "clip nails, clean ears,....." and are unnecessary for seasoned groomers, but might be a reminder for beginners. The instructions for some breeds, such as the Bouvier, are poorly written. This is an older edition and, although the price was right for a "used, but in very good condition", I would recommend buying the newest edition as I have heard it has been completely revamped.
