What an excellent book! A joy to read. Contains specific advice on some of my favorite streams in Colorado. Full of insightful information. Though a master fisher, Mayer’s humility shows through and most unusually the author consistently gives credit to other experts, rather than claiming to personally know it all. I particularly enjoyed the hints on winter fly-fishing. Could use better illustrations of flies. There is a need for a state map to indicate where the rivers are located. (Must be very difficult for non-Coloradoans to locate the referenced fishing grounds.) Use of URLs would also be a nice added touch. If you fly fish in Colorado, or fantasize about doing so, get this book. It is one of the best and reasonably priced. I hope that subsequent editions will add more and more about fly-fishing in our bit of paradise. PS I am a Colorado native and love fly-fishingRead full review
