Great book, lots of easy, good recipes
Good "comfort food" cookbook. Good for even a beginning cook. Easy to follow with ingrediants that you already have in your pantry. That is one of the big reasons that I bought it. I hate a cook book with recipes that require 4 kinds of cheese, a certain kind of wine or odd ingrediants. I like simple, esay to prepare recipes with things that a normal, (not gourmet) cook would make. This cookbook fit the bill to a tee. If you like down home, good cooking, buy this book. You won't regret it.

This cookbook is a wonderful gift for anyone you know, including the Northerners who do not know a lot about Southern cooking! I met Johnnie at her restaurant and she offered to sign the book for me, saying that was the greatest compliment! Super recipes I have made so far are the mac & cheese, meatloaf and squash casserole. You will love this book!

I really like this book. It has alot of good recipes. I have tried some and they were great. The recipes all call for things that are common in a kitchen. The direction were written very well.
