There is nothing really different or exrtraordinary about this book. It is a basic drawing book. There are some good tips and the exercises are good, tho some of them seem somewhat difficult for a beginner. The basic concept is to look at shapes when you draw, which is a basic technique (not a new concept here!) There is a good explanation of how to draw the human figure and face. There is lots of information on persepective, which I know is important, but it seemed overwhelming to me. I am still confused. If you do all the exerces I am sure you will become a better artist. I got this used so it was a good value for me. I do not think I would feel that way if I had paid full price.

While this book is quite old and many of the watercolor brands are no longer available I still found it very helpful for those that are. Full of information you need to know to make good choices when purchasing paint.
