This thing is awesome. I’m a woman and don’t have the strongest pulling arm. only power tool I have my husband doesn’t have to start for me. I’ve done my yard multiple times and my neighbor’s yard three times. I had a yard machine before this. This is a much better machine. Easier on my body I’m not sore all over when I’m finished. The first time on edges that are over grown it’s going to talk a while, but after that initial edge up it took me 10 minutes the second time to do my front lawn edge with a steep hill the outer edge of the sidewalk including the street easement portion. Ann additional 10 minutes on my neighbors yard with the exact same type of boundaries. The photo is of the edge of the hill. Which was the hardest part to do even though I’d done it before with the yard machines brand last year. After you find that edge and do it the first time, this thing cuts through that edge like a hot knife through butter. I used this thing pretty much with ease even though at the time I suffered from chronic debilitating type pain. I’ve had surgery and my pain is gone now so can’t wait to see how easy it’ll be. Very happy with my purchase and it’s one heck a value for the price. I wasn’t compensated at all for this review and waited to post u til I had it a good two months and really put it to use before reviewing it. Was excited about getting this trimmer/edger. Box arrived with the bottom nearly gone in the box, and essential parts floating around. The adjustment knob that locks the front wheel on the shaft was so bent that i could not tighten it sufficiently due to the threads being compressed. Ok, I understand shipping horrors, been there! When using the trimmer it constantly stalled out. I believe I had to restart it 6 times just to finish the job. Acts like it was struggling power-wise.

This is exactly what I have been looking for in an edger. It is truly heavy duty, well made, and easy to use. One pass edging with NO back and forth motion to make it cut. It will cut my edging time in half. Starts on the second pull and NO priming bulb to deal with.

The Powermate is a powerful edger. The 4 stroke engine doesn't slow down when the going gets tough. All of the controls work properly and it is easy to start. The price is low compared to other edgers. The only negative is that it is heavy if you have to pick it up to load it into a pickup by your self.
