Excellent Bluegrass DVD's
I purchased both volumes 1 and 2 of the Flatt & Scruggs TV shows on DVD and have been so pleased with them. I grew up listening to bluegrass with my Dad but I had never the opportunity to see Flatt & Scruggs live or on recorded media before except for short clips here and there. It has been so great seeing them at the top of their form here on these DVD's. The sound is good and the transfer to DVD was done with care. The information sheet inside provided some wonderful insight into the making of these shows and about Flatt & Scruggs in general. Volume 2 includes songs with Mother Maybelle Carter. I just hope that more of these become available in the future. Best of The Flatt & Scruggs TV Show - Vol. 2 (2007, DVD
I highly recommend Vol 1 and Vol 2 to any Flatt and Scruggs fans or Bluegrass fans in general. The footage is B&W but the transfer from video tape to Film to DVD is as good. Excellent booklet included with DVD that provides historical details. I hope they release future volumes of the show
