The black printed a medium gray ink and the color cartridge was equally unimpressive with washed out colors. I ended up finding refilled HP Cartridges at Office Max for $50 and they work perfectly.

I have been using refilled or non-HP cartridges for years with great success. The OEM cartridges are stupid-expensive, and printing a large quantity of news letters for a volunteer organization like i do, I have to economize. Do not be afraid to try these out. You will get good quality print-outs and save a boat-load of cash.
