Since this past summer, my 7.5 year old son has really been into puppets and making videos using them. The first Melissa and Doug puppet we got was at a Kite Loft in Ocean City, MD, that was located on the board walk and he didn’t put it down once for the remainder of the day, he would even use his hand to have the puppets hand pick things up for him. My mother in laws husband (who’s in his early 60’s) was even playing with it so much (he was hilarious with it and loved the adult humor he acted out) and coincidently it was his birthday weekend, so the next day we went back to the board walks kite loft and got her husband one for his birthday as a surprise and then my son ended up with another one that day as well! Needless to say, (that was July/August 2017) they played with the puppets all weekend long and when we go to my mother in laws house, my son takes his puppets to play with his Pappy F. Basically just want to say that these puppets are absolutely great...they’re lots of fun for kids and adults and I’m assuming that they’re constructed of extremely durable products beings that it’s been close to 6 months now that my son has had his puppets (he doesn’t take care of toys very well and likes to take them in water with him) and they’ve with stood anything and everything imaginable that a 7yr old could put a toy through...such as the swimming pool, the bath tub, rain/mud, being left outside-during rain/storms, traveling, having its clothes changed 100’s if times, the clutches of his 2.5yr old brother, and not to mention Mom having to repeatedly run it through the washing machine! Overall, I would give this toy 10 stars if I could...it’s totally worth every dollar and doesn’t even cost half the price of other brands, it’s extremely durable and well made, and my overall favorite feature about this line of puppets is that the rod that’s included with them is detachable. The wooden rod comes already attached in place when you buy a puppet, however, that rod is only attached through the small opening at the bottom of the puppets hand by velcro. When you go to pull it out, at first, it may seem like it is really in there and isn’t meant to be removed, but if you pull a little harder, it should pull right out and if you want to reattach the rod, you should be able to do so without any issues at all! Love this item and a lot of the other Melissa and Doug items as well!!Read full review

My grandson is into puppets right now and I chose this brand of puppet for him because the name Melissa and Doug speaks for itself. It was one of his Christmas gifts. We also got him the lion. The puppets are easy to use. The craftsmanship is wonderful. Thank you!

My Grand daughter loves to play at cooking. The Chef has been a fun addition for her..he comments on her stirring, measuring etc. This is a great little toy. The only slight problem we had at first was controlling the stick, she had to practice. Overall it is a great toy for the Kitchen playtime.

It's a clever puppet to be sure, I especially like it because it fits even my adult hand (which are in the med. to lg. range). I would say for the cost it's good value. I'm getting attached and I think my g/kids will also...
