This is not a saw I would run my business off of, but it is great for home use. With a little care it is easy to make accurate cuts. The fence is small but so far it locks in place and holds firm. No power problems and cuts easily thru 2x4's. The expandable table is nice, but again take some time for adjusting and you can get an accurate cut. A good saw for the cash.

First the good. It’s a pretty color andit was packed well. As for the not so good? Instructions are incomplete and I had to call the Skil company, twice. Each time I gave up after being on hold 20 minutes and finally opted to have them call back which they did three days later. I explained to the rep that mine was missing a spring and the hold down Pawl. They said they would send one out within 5 to 10 business days. well it never showed up. Also the black release lever to allow you to tilt the blade required a very hard pullby both hands to get it loosened, Resulting in bruised knuckles. The blade that it came with might be all right for some wood, but it had a tough time when I tried to rip and 8 foot 2 x 4. The company has since contacted me about a review I left on another site, and asked me to give them a call back which I did twice and I got no response. If I’ve learned one thing about this experience it is that I will not buy Skil again.Read full review

I found this saw to be fairly cheaply made. But, you get what you pay for. As far as the saw itself, there is a lot more plastic than expected. The blade angle lock lever broke when I tried to release the blade for a 45 degree cut. Maybe a better plastic should be investigated. The guide for the miter handle has a lot of play in it. I'll have to be very careful when making miter cuts. All in all I am very disappointed in this product and expected better from SKIL

This wide table and powerful motor performs great in the home shop. It replaces a Rockwell RK7241S that had bearing failure in 3 years, very disappointed there.
