I use it for car tracking. It works great most of the time. Sometimes if the car is parked in an enclosed parking area, it loses signal, and gets disconnected. After the car comes out of the parking area, sometimes it does not regain the signal, and I end up deleting and reconnecting the device which is a pain. I power it with a 12V to USB converter, so power is no issue for me. The load on the car battery is minimal. The app needs some improvement, to allow more than two zones. It should also provide a audible notification, if required. The Google Home / Assistant interface does not work for me. I cannot include the device into Google Assistant.

The device is easy to set up, and runs on cell networks without a sim card requirement which is a newer form of connection for iot type devices to my understanding. If you're buying this expecting to get instant notifications and real time updates of a child leaving or arriving somewhere, or vehicle speed tracking, etc, you will not be impressed. The updates only come every 10 minutes, making it kind of useless for home automation while still oddly falling under the smarthings banner. I suppose it's useful for finding your parked car in a parking lot, or to see if your child is indeed at school (in general). Those are really the only civilian applications I can see for this. Second, the battery cannot be replaced. This is a sealed unit, so once the battery fails, you're only going to be able to use this if it is constantly hooked up to a secondary power source. Overall the quality and value are great, as is the free year of service. It's just not a real time tracker which is the biggest setback.Read full review

I use this product to track the location of my drones when I'm flying. It works very well. It comes with a phone app that shows exactly where the tracker is located on the map and it comes with a full year of service (beginning in year 2 you will pay $50/year for service). It has several modes of how for how you can receive location updates: Automatic Location Updates (sends location updates every 60second), On Demand (user must press button in app to request location update). I need updates more frequently than every 60 seconds so I used the "On Demand" option. The battery is supposed to last 3-4 days if the Tracker is in continuous. I can't vouch for that that because I recharge it after each use. The app does display the charge level on the device so you can easily tell how much charge is remaining...which is nice. My only criticism of the product given how I use it is that I'd like to be able to control the frequency of the location updates. I'd prefer to get location updates every 15 seconds. Since this is not possible with the "Automatic Location Updates" option I just request dates manually via "On Demand"..which works but you must constantly click the button to request the location which is kind of a pain. But fits my needs perfectly and it works well. I bought the Tracker as an "Open Box" item for $28.99...you can't beat that.Read full review

It’s an i expensive unit that is complete right out of the box. Other triggers I seen require you to buy the Sim card and the memory chip, this one does not. In fact it even comes with one year of free service, and after that it’s about half the price per year of other tractors. That being said, there is some functionality that is lacking. But the basics are there, it will track what you need when you need it to

This is a very small and light weight device, works ONLY IN THE US on AT&T 4G LTE network. Battery backup is good for 2 to 3 days only, but what would you expect at this price, size and weight? If you want more battery, its going ro become more bulky and expensive. This works on Samsung Smart things app only, you cannot track it via a webpage using a laptop. The location pointed out is fairly accurate. A one year subscription is included, and after that it is $50 every year. Coverage is almost everywhere in the US - AT&T has fairly good coverage. You can also select upto 5 zones, and can receive notification as well as text messages ( texts only if you are anywhere in the USA only, notificationsca be receivedas long as you are anywhere in the world connected to internet and the tracker in USA) everytime the device moves in/out of the zone area. Note that the minimum zone area is a diameter of 700 feet. The tracker also has a small button which when pressed twice, will send the current location to your cellphone. Alternatively you can request location anytime via your cellphone using the samsung Smartthings app.Read full review
