The mounting base is two pieces so it needs mounted on a very flat FLAT spot.
After installing it 6 or 7 times adding shims in different place it now moves freely. I will be going back and adding a 1/8” plate under it to hopefully keep it from binding. It is made to be mounted on the tapered part of the firewall.
