Bought one with dual battery and soon realised a second would help reduce bit changing time, a 2nd with a countersunk bit after using the first to drill. Chip technology enables this to make the most of available battery power and is suitable for drilling bricks(to fit wall plugs as an example) and wood with suitable drill bits attached. Has a light, useful in dark corners, seems obvious but even lit rooms have awkward corners with little light. If confused light (torch) with light (not heavy) don't worry as not heavy compared to older products that did not have the chip technology and hence these older products used large (heavy) motors to perform the same task.

This is a replacement for one I bought 2 years ago. The first one worked fine for two years and one month then developed a fault - just after the end of the warranty period! (smoke and sparks emitted from the motor. I liked the drill itself so ordered another one (didn't need battery of charger) so we'll see how long this one lasts.

Obviously the blue professional Bosh line it's better, but for my DIY and for the price this is amazing. I've read a lot of bad experiences about this drill not having enough power or stopping at maximum power... well that could really happened but: - This depends on the charge of the battery. When it is almost completely discharged (only 1 led on), the voltage regulator tries to compensate volts with amperes till it can manage, then it stops completely. That's completely normal. This seems a problem to many, but without this stabilizer the maximum power wouldn't be available in any case. When it behaves that way it means is time to recharge so to not reduce the life expectancy of the battery. With drills that let you go further that point, the life expectancy of the battery will be shorter. - When the battery is decently charged I've never seen such problem and the power is really good for the purpose. I've drilled a dry wall and some wood with a big bit (and that needs a lot of power). I mean... it's not a jackhammer, it's a drill for DIY and for me it's VERY good at it!Read full review

I needed to replace my older drill as it had become too heavy for me to handle. This beauty is versatile and a dream to use. No need for extension cords etc and it comes with 2 batteries.

I burn't my Bosch drill out but still had 2 batteries and the charger. This purchase saved me about £40 instead of buying the whole lot again. I love this little drill it is so handy for all my DIY jobs. An added bonus is the hammer action so it can even tackle more difficult jobs.
