Great starting platform. I own an Axial Wraith Spawn and it crawls better In my opinion. Definitely would recommend. Infinite amount of upgrades available for this model.

Cheep Junk !! Purchased many Axial crawlers including the previous deadbolt and scx10 kits and was very happy. Now this new deadbolt came with bent transmission shaft and a bad clicking inside of it ! That also makes the driveshafts turn crooked or wobbly. I don't recommend purchasing it, try another 12 inch wheelbase manufacturer. " Update" sent transmission to Horizon Hobby service dept for my issue and they said no problem found and it just needed grease. So when I recieved it back and hand spun the shafts it now binds in spots, reinstalled motor and put power to it, the trans just popped and clicked inside. Stay away from this new deadbolt, it's cheaply made.

my son used it 1 day and on the second day the motor stopped working. Bought a motor because they are cheap and easy to replace and the esc started smoking. Axial sent a new esc and motor and now the controller stops working periodically. Nice machine with junky parts.

Its a simple and great RC car. Great beginner car, and also if you want something to build further on. I like the Deadbolt appearance. As a RTR car its not bad at all at this price range. Plastic Links, Weak servo, Not the best tires, and Engine This are things that some would upgrade but if you are in it just for the fun just like me I will drive it stock until some thinks break. A new version the Axial SCX10 III Base Camp looks somewhat upgraded but comes with a higher price tag.
