It's so easy to use, and I love the big mouth as it fits full apples and juices a lot of fruit, and really separates the pulp!

The Juicing process works OK, but there is an enormous amount of vibration and movement of the catch vessel for both the juice and the trash. Cleaning is not all that easy either but not as bad as the juicing. The speed at which it juices so far is good, even though I have only juiced carrots and beet.

Easy to clean with the accompanying brush. May not be the best juicer on the market (good amount of pulp left in bin) but the price is right. If not for this, I'd have spent $270 more for the slow speed juicer that extacts a bit more from the produce. This is a great starter item for the new juice fanatic! Big mouth feature is a great boon to this task. Having to cut up into small pieces would discourage you from doing this everyday; with the HB Bigmouth I just break a carrot in half , cut the core out of apples, fold greens up and shove them in, add a chunk of unpeeled ginger, and a whole stalk of celery or a whole cuke. What comes out is delicious when added to a big glass of ice and = 6 servings of produce added to my daily intake. I'm not a veggie fanatic but this is GOOD!Read full review
I purchased this juicer on the advice of a physician friend. He claimed it was the best juicer on the market for the money. I did my 'due diligence' in reading the reviews, and he loaned me a 'spare' juicer he had, and I was quite impressed with the unit. My reason for 'juicing' is part of a program to boost my immune system, after receiving a life-threatening diagnosis--an incurable disease. I have been juicing 5-7 times per day (60-70 oz of juice/day), both fruit-based and vegetable/fruit mix, in addition to two regular vegan meals/day. My unit came within 5 days from when ordered. After removing it from its packing box and washing it well, I put it to the initial test. It worked like a charm, just like the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juicer my friend had loaned me. I am now on my 6th week of juicing, 5 weeks with my own juicer (as above). That works out to well over 200 'juicings' (my wife drinks 8-10 0z's of juice with me first thing in the morning and at my last juicing in the evening). I use organic carrots as the base for all of my juicing--they're the least expensive vegi, with a good amount of the nutrients that I need. I usually add 1/4 to 1/2 of an apple and a few grapes to the carrots for a 12-13 oz glass of juice. I either scrub the carrots very well or peal them before juicing them. Apples get pealed and cored. Everything gets well washed pre-juicing. I've also used cabbage, celery and broccoli. I always use a plastic bag in the pulp cannister (on the L side of the unit), which gets changed after about 50-60 oz's of juicing. This cuts clean-up time a lot! I clean the unit each time I juice (5-7 times/day). It takes me an average of 10 minutes for each 'juicing', which includes getting the produce out of the refrigerator, setting the juicer in place, running the produce thru the juicer (making the juice), cleaning the juicer, drying all the parts, re-assembling the unit and cleaning up the countertop--oh, and I forgot, drinking the freshly-made juice, which is delicious!!! No problem with how my Hamilton Beach Juicer works up to this point. The pro's: Price (very inexpensive). Very quick (motor is plenty powerful)--juicing time 1-2 minutes. Goes together well (well made--good 'fit & finish'. Easy to clean (approx. 5-6 minute clean-up time). Nice looking unit (doesn't distract from our solid granite counter-top). The con's: A bit loud. Pulp is wetter than I would like (a lot of 'wasted nutrients'). I will probably be getting an Omega 8005 Masticating Juicer in the near future. It, apparently, is not nearly as fast, but much more efficient at extracting more juice--from a greater variety of produce (wheat grass, parsley, etc.). I'm retired, so juicing time is not a big deal for me. As much as I juice, if I can decrease the volume of waste and increase the quantity of juice extracted, it will cut my costs, for organic produce, considerably--which IS a big deal. I'm in it for the long haul. My life may depend on it! I DO NOT plan to sell my Hamilton Beach Juicer. I'll keep it to use when I'm in a hurry--or to loan to a friend.Read full review
I bought this product for its affordable price yet its advertised quality. I was glad to know it functions very well and is rather easy to maintain and clean. The "pulp" or remnants of the juiced fruits are a little more moist than i prefer but not by much. It juices Bananas with no remnant whatsoever and does great with green veggies. I was, however, disappointed at the mouth size. Although it has a much larger mouth than most juicers, unless you buy small apples, you still need to cut them up a tad. Its pretty lightweight and very easy to assemble, just be sure to check twice whether or not the switch is off before plugging it in.
